How To Eat McDonald’s For 30 Days Without Getting Fat: Day 30
I have finally reached the very last day of my efforts to show people how to eat McDonald’s for 30 days without getting fat.
Though there were a few occasions where life seemed to drag by during the last 30 days, I really can not believe the end of this McDonald’s food trial is already here.
One of the keys to making the time go by fast during this food trial was how I kept myself interested by constantly having some new type of food to try.
Past food trials have been boring and tiresome for their lack of variety. I was able to sample something new from the McDonald’s menu during every single day of this particular food trial.
I kept up with my intention to have something fun to eat for my last meal of this series by going back to the meal from this month that I most enjoyed eating.
My last meal of this series was going to be a large McDonald’s Chocolate Milkshake or a couple of McDonald’s Sundaes, but I went back to my favourite burger from the past month instead.
I reasoned that I would be having ice cream on my free day (which is coming up in 10 days so stay tuned!) so there was no need to over-indulge right now.
My Current Weight And Body Fat
- My Current Weight: 140.4 lbs
- My Current Body Fat: 17.4%
My prediction that I would break through the 140.0 lb barrier before the end of my efforts to show people how to eat McDonald’s for 30 days without getting fat did not quite come to fruition.
Coming within 0.5 lbs of reaching my ultimate goal has definitely turned out to be enough of a reward to satisfy me. I could not be more pleased with how this entire McDonald’s food trial went.
My weight and body fat readings have both dropped to the lowest levels I have ever seen on the readout of my electronic scale. I have had to put new holes in all of my belts this month as well.
None of my clothes fit me very well anymore, but I plan to put a few pounds back on over the next week or so.
There is not a single ounce of fat left for me to shed from my frame. I know for sure that I have no fat surrounding my internal organs either because I find it very difficult to stick my stomach out at all.
Getting back to my regular diet of lean meats, vegetables and fruits will be nice because then I will have the confidence of knowing that I am getting the proper nutrition for my newly svelte frame.
The volume of my meals will go back up now that I am going to be eating normally again. My total calorie intake will remain between 800 to 1000 calories per day, but my plate will definitely be piled higher with food come supper time.
Who would have thought I could reach the best diet results of my life while eating nothing but McDonald’s food? Exercising a little personal responsibility instead of forcing yourself to exercise can do wonders for you, huh?
Here are the two charts I normally post at the end of each food trial I conduct that show both my weight and relative body fat percentage plotted against my total calorie intake per day. Note the steep initial drop and eventual plateau for my weight loss despite the consistent calorie intake:

What McDonald’s Food I Ate Today
The McDonald’s food I chose to eat today was as follows:
- One McDonald’s Double Quarter Pounder With Cheese And Bacon
Here is how my meal of McDonald’s food appeared on my plate tonight:

This is the best hamburger that McDonald’s sells. I loved it so much when I tried it earlier this month that I just had to have it again as my last meal from McDonald’s.
It is not so much the appearance of this hamburger that makes it appealing, but the overall taste that really satisfies. The Big Mac hamburger does not compare and neither does the Angus Burger.
Since this was my last meal from McDonald’s, I did add a few extra toppings to this burger tonight, including:
- Extra Ketchup
- Relish
- Mustard
- Dill Pickle slices
- Chopped Onions
- Extra Cheddar Cheese
I made sure to pile my burger high enough that I had a tough time getting my mouth around it even after pressing it down on my plate.
It was necessary to bite onlt half of the burger at a time in order to keep from spilling it all over myself. I figured this kind of treat was a great reward for haing made it through the whole trial.
My total calorie intake for the day consisted of:
- One McDonald’s Double Quarter Pounder With Cheese And Bacon – 800 calories
It is comforting to know that this is the last time my entire calorie limit for the day will be completely consumed by such a small amount of food.
Lyann and I do not normally count any calories from fruits and vegetables, so there is usually a lot more room for volume in my regular diet than there is in a 30 day food trial.
Total Cost Of Showing People How To Eat McDonald’s For 30 Days Without Getting Fat
With this food trial now complete, I can fianlly stop tacking numbers onto the bottom of this chart and present the ending tally.
Tonight’s meal of just one burger moved my average meal cost down just a little further than where it was yesterday, but I still did not get my average cost down to only $6.00 per day. It would have taken a few more smaller meals and a little more time to make that happen.

| 09/07/2009 | Three McDonald’s Baked Apple Pies | $4.37 |
| 10/07/2009 | One McDonald’s Double Quarter Pounder With Cheese And Bacon | $4.52 |
| Total Cost | $185.43 | |
So my average cost per meal (or per day) for eating at McDonald’s for the entire past month officially works out to $6.18 per day.
I expected to end up around the $7.50 level when this time came, so I was pleasantly surprised with the lower number when I made this calculation tonight.
When I think of all the money people spend paying other people to show them how to lose weight, it makes me angry at those who accept the large payments and makes me feel pity for those who pay the fees.
It only cost me $185.43 to lose 16.0 lbs this month. That is a cost of only $11.58 per pound lost. I could have paid a lot less to lose this amount of weight had I been eating my regular healthy meals of vegetables and fruit.
How much money do North Americans waste on so-called “professional” diet consultants and companies each year? More people need to begin to take personal responsibility for their own weight and stop laying the blame on companies like Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig when diets “just don’t work” for them.
The only way this will happen is if those of us who know how to achieve permanent weight loss without exercise make an effort to educate as many other people as possible about what they can accomplish through restricting their daily calorie intake and exercising a little personal responsibility for their own physique.
I lost 16.0 lbs this month while eating exclusively from the McDonald’s menu. I could have accomplished the same weight loss results by eating any other food as well.
You too can free yourself from the prison of obesity by becoming personally responsible for what you put in your mouth each day. Learn to count and restrict your calories and you will never have to worry about your weight again.
How Showing People How To Eat McDonald’s For 30 Days Without Getting Fat Affected Me
I promised when I began this McDonald’s food trial some 30 days ago that I would post some pictures when the end of the trial came around.
My weight at the beginning of this little McDonald’s adventure was 156.4 lbs. I finished this food trial at a new record low of only 140.4 lbs. My body fat percentage dropped by 4.7% during the last 30 days.
When I began this McDonald’s food trial, I looked very similar to the right-hand side picture in the series of three on the “About” page of my website. I did not take a picture when I got started since I knew the one I am speaking of would exist as a reference.
This morning was spent taking a few pictures of how I look now that I have finished my exclusive diet of McDonald’s food. The results were more drastic than what I expected. Even my boss at one of my jobs commented on how thin I have been getting lately.
Let me assure you like I did with him that I will be aiming to put some weight back on over the next week or so.
Anyway, here are the pictures I took to document the effect of eating only 800 calories worth of McDonald’s food each day for an entire month. Keep in mind that the result would have been the same no matter which food I ate. My thin condition in these pictures is a result of calorie restriction applied through determination and a great deal of self-control.

I want you to understand beyond any shadow of a doubt that I never exercise. I never lift weights, I never go running and I would not be caught dead in an aerobics class.
The condition I am in now and the health I possess are both direct results of a calorie-restricted diet that is normally made up of very nutrient-dense, natural foods.
I do not endorse eating nothing but McDonald’s food for 30 days unless you have no other choice. My intention was to prove that even if you had no choice but to eat McDonald’s food for 30 days straight, you could still make intelligent and responsible choices about the volume of food (measured in total calories per day) that you would consume each day.
What all this comes down to is a question of how much food you actually need versus how much food you desire. Eating more natural foods is what allows you to keep your meal volume high while keeping your calorie count low.
You too can be in this kind of shape regardless of where you are starting from. Eating natural, whole foods in place of processed foods like McDonald’s will help you to lead a longer and healthier life. Burying your head in the sand while consuming food like that offered at McDonald’s is not an acceptable excuse when you find yourself unhappy with your reflection.
You are capable of successful permanent weight loss without exercise. If I can do this while eating McDonald’s food, imagine what you can accomplish with lean meats, vegetables and fruit.

fat weighs less than muscle?
@ Stephen:
Yes, fat does weigh less than muscle. Muscle tissue is more dense than fat and therefore weighs more.
This is why some people can see a change in their physical appearance when beginning a diet program, while not seeing a change in their overall weight.
They are losing fat and gaining muscle at the same time, for a net effect of zero pounds lost.
