30 Day Healthy Meals Weight Loss Diet 1: Day 28
In case you had not already noticed, I have been speaking out against following the status quo quite often during this 30 Day Healthy Meals Weight Loss Diet.
The reason for my tirade against blindly following the establishment is quite simple. Those people who choose to do what the majority of others are doing during this lifetime are far less likely to achieve anything of real value. They may make a comfortable living, they may win the lottery by always buying a ticket and they may have beautiful funerals with many people in attendance, but what will their legacy be? What shall we write as epitaphs on the graves of these souls?
Doing the opposite of what the majority of people are doing at any given time is far more likely to make you stand out from the crowd in any situation. It allows for a much greater chance of you achieving something spectacular while you are here on earth. All the experts thought Albert Einstein was retarded until he was near 13 years old. Is there any doubt about his brilliance now? Did he follow the crowd or strike out on his own?
Do you remember watching Seinfeld? Do you remember George, played so incredibly well by Jason Alexander? George had a life that could have been used as a textbook example of what happens when you follow the crowd and listen to the experts. His professional life and personal life were always in disarray no matter how hard he tried to adhere to all the established rules of the game of life. Then one day, George decided to do the opposite.
George made up his mind that if every decision he made on his own, based on his prior conditioning was wrong, then the opposite must be the right thing to do. He began to do the opposite of everything he thought he should do and started experiencing success.
In one particularly funny scene, George and Jerry are in the local diner when George spots a woman at the counter. When George is informed by his friend that the woman is checking him out, he gets momentarily flustered. He states that he could never approach the woman at the counter because she would turn him down flat. Then he decides to do the opposite. George approaches the woman at the counter and says something to the effect of “Hi, my name is George. I’m 32 years old, unemployed and I live with my parents.” The woman responds positively like George is the best looking guy she has ever seen. Though the situation is ludicrous, George succeeds by doing the opposite.
A great real world example of someone who did the opposite of the status quo while here on earth was Mother Theresa. When she could not find an order that fit her requirements, Mother Theresa created her own order. After establishing her own order of nuns, she spent her entire life as a humanitarian, helping the poor of Calcutta. Where others would shy away from the lepers and other sick people of the slums, she would touch them and hold them, never herself becoming ill.
In one particularly grand gesture, Mother Theresa gave away the entire cash award she received when she won the Nobel Peace Prize. She kept not a penny for herself, donating the entire amount to charity.
Through freely sharing the information in my posts during this 30 Day Healthy Meals Weight Loss Diet, I am imploring you to begin doing the opposite to what all the experts in the diet and exercise industries are telling you to do. I am sharing information with you for free each and every day that you would be required to pay thousands of dollars for if you were to register for a physician-led diet program through your local hospital. Personal trainers and dietitians would charge you at least $25.00/hour for what I am giving away at no cost.
The fact is that following the status quo for diet and fitness will get you nowhere. If going to the gym every day and joining Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig were really the best way to get into shape, then thousands if not millions more people around the world would be successful with weight loss. Companies like Weight Watchers would cease to exist if their programs worked as well as they claim.
You need to do the opposite, just as I have been telling you all along. Do not even think about joining a gym in order to lose weight. Do not pay someone to tell you what I am offering to you for free. Allow me to state it here once again for those of you who may have missed it before: Weight loss is a pure function of how many calories you consume each day. If you consume fewer calories than your body needs to operate, then you will lose weight. Consume more than what your body needs and you will gain weight.
Your overall health depends on what you eat each day. So, what do most people eat? Cheap food. Most people eat a lot of pasta, rice, bread, potatoes, junk food and red meat. Why? Because these foods are cheap. Most people also eat a lot of fast food and drink a lot of sugary drinks like cola and sweetened fruit juices. You need to do the opposite of what most people are doing if you want to be successful.
For optimal health, your regular diet should consist of large quantities of fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables, lean meat in moderation and plenty of water to drink. This natural food is what God intended for us to eat in abundance in order to keep our bodies in the best shape possible and live the longest we possibly could.
When you eat this way, your weight drops without any effort. You do not need to go to the gym, because even if you try to overeat, you can not take in enough calories in a day in order to gain weight. The volume of fruit and vegetables you would have to ingest each day in order to effect weight gain is just too large to be practical.
Dropping cola and sweetened juices from your diet keeps your blood sugar level more stable and keeps you from having sudden cravings where you are susceptible to binge eating. There are innumerable benefits to eating the diet God intended for us, not the least of which is the avoidance of the gym craze.
I can not accurately recount to you all the hours I once wasted in a gym, blindly believing that I was doing my body good. I used to buy the lie that exercise was necessary for weight loss. The truth is that exercise is not necessary for weight loss. Not by a long shot. I lost 40 lbs in only 12 weeks when I wrote my quick weight loss ebook and I never even thought about exercising. Eating properly keeps your body in great shape, both externally and internally.
I used to hear doctors and fitness professionals saying that you needed to do some kind of cardiovascular work every day in order to keep your arteries clean and avoid a heart attack. The truth is that if you only put clean fuel in your gas tank, no arterial buildup can occur. Switching to a healthy diet corrects any existing problems over time without any need to ever step foot on a treadmill or a gym mat.
One of my own family members is currently following a hospital sponsored, physician and dietitian guided weight loss program. The cost for this particular weight loss program is $3000 for 12 weeks. The program consists of putting you on “nutritionally balanced” liquid meals for a period of time where you only get to consume 900 calories per day.
The people who administer this program tout its effectiveness, claiming that the weight loss is dramatic during the first few weeks. That may be true, but it costs three thousand dollars! And you have to go on a liquid diet where you are not allowed to eat regular food for a while! The funniest recent development with this family member is that they have been reporting to me that everything they are being told by their doctor and dietitian is what I have been telling them all along for free.
I am telling you now for free that if you commit to going on the SaveYourSweat.com diet plan where you eat nothing but lean meat, vegetables and fruit for 12 weeks while keeping your calorie count below 1000 calories per day, you will achieve greater results than those who choose to waste their $3000.00 investment on the advice of some so-called professionals. Weight loss success depends only on your commitment to achieving results, not on how much money you spend. Eat what I eat every day and keep your money in the bank where it belongs.
That being said, here is what I ate for supper tonight (another great example of what a healthy diet or meal should look like and once again, offered to you for free):

Considering that I am ranting tonight against following the establishment or the status quo, it is worth mentioning once again in this post that I never count calories from fruit or vegetables. The only exceptions to this rule are bananas and potatoes. I almost never eat either of these foods.
There is no need to count calories from fruit or vegetables because it is impossible to get fat from eating them. I issue a challenge to anyone who disagrees with my last statement. I challenge anyone reading this post to eat a large enough volume of fresh fruit and vegetables on a regular basis so as to become obese. It can not be done. When you follow the SaveYourSweat.com diet and keep your total daily calorie count under 1000 calories, you are never to include calories from fruit or vegetables in your daily total. But it is important to keep in mind that I do not use any butter or oil on my vegetables. I eat them as they are in their natural state.
I never include them in my total calorie count each day and I have lost and kept off over 40.0 lbs for over two years. I have lost and kept off an additional 13.0 lbs since the beginning of this year. So who are you going to believe? An overweight doctor and nutritionist, or a lean, mean fighting machine of a dieter who leads you to success by standing out in front of you and clearing the path of obstructions? Look at the fruit on the tree, my friend. Do not take weight loss advice from a fat person, regardless of their education.
The calorie content associated with the meal above is as follows:
- 2 cups of Homemade Vegetable Soup with Knorr OXO Beef Bouillon – zero calories. This soup only contains frozen vegetables and a bit of flavouring.
- 1 can (85 grams) of Brunswick Boneless Herring Fillets – 130 calories
- 3 Quaker Original Rice Cakes – 105 calories
- 2 Tablespoons of Kraft Reduced Fat Smooth Peanut Butter – 160 calories – 10 calories less per tablespoon than the original kind.
- Tossed Salad – zero calories.
- 2 Hard-Boiled Eggs – 150 calories
- 2 tablespoons of Kraft Parmesan Cheese – 50 calories
- 3 Tbsp Kraft Sundried Tomato and Oregano Dressing – 105 calories
- Cucumber, Cherry Tomatoes, Dill Pickles, Clementines and Seedless Green Grapes – zero calories. No calorie counting required.
The total calorie content associated with the meal above is 700 calories. I have shown many different ways during the past 28 days in which you can combine different foods to make up a meal with this approximate calorie count. You can choose to include a small portion of meat, or not. You can include a dairy serving by having some cheese, or leave it out if desired. The key in making up these meals is to keep track of all calories that do not come from your fruit or vegetables. They are the only calories that matter.
I always leave room for a small dessert of some kind as a mini reward for having made it through the day while maintaining a healthy and nutritious diet. I kept 100 calories in reserve tonight so that I could enjoy the dessert pictured below:

These Christie Thinsations Fudgee-O Cookies are just one small example of a very large number of pre-packaged 100 calorie desserts that are available at your local grocery store. They are incredibly convenient for those of us who take personal responsibility for monitoring our calorie intake each day.
It is far easier to keep a few of these packs on hand than to have to figure out the calorie content from a homemade dessert. Besides, I think special things like homemade desserts should be reserved for free day, where you reward yourself for 30 consecutive days of responsible eating.
The addition of this dessert to my menu choices for the day brought my total daily calorie intake up to 800 calories even. It will be interesting to see if my average calorie intake for this entire 30 Day Healthy Meals Weight Loss Diet comes out to exactly 800 calories per day as well.
Here are my current stats:
Weight and Body Fat
I would say that I have a proverbial horseshoe up my ass lately, but I have been going to the bathroom quite a bit recently, so the likelihood of such an obstruction being lodged in my rectum can probably be dismissed out of hand. As luck would have it, my weight dropped again today. My Salter body fat percentage scale showed me weighing in at 148.4 lbs this morning. That is only 1.2 lbs heavier than the lightest weight of my life. My body fat percentage reading showed 19.6% today, which is only 0.2% higher than I have ever seen my scale read before.
I can say in confidence that this particular 30 Day Healthy Meals Weight Loss Diet has been quite the success so far. I even had a four day stretch where I increased my total daily calorie intake to 1200 calories per day, yet my weight continues to drop to near record levels. The best part is that I am so stuffed after I finish eating that I can barely fit in a cup of tea.
I am hopeful that I will get down to 147.2 lbs again just prior to our free day on March 4, 2009. That is the lightest weight of my life, even counting back when I was in high school. Though I would not want to get any lighter than that, it is comforting to know that I can achieve that weight repeatedly upon making the demand of myself.
Summary
Just by writing a post of this length (this may be the longest one in this series), I am fighting against the status-quo or doing the opposite, whichever you prefer to say. All of the advice I have read concerning optimal post length flies in the face of putting together something of this size. The experts believe that people who cruise through cyberspace have too short an attention span to stick with a post of this length. They claim it is better to write shorter posts that people can easily digest.
I believe in eating food that is easily digested, but I believe in writing longer, more involved and informative posts. I do not want to attract readers who cannot sit still long enough to finish reading a 3000 word post about a topic which concerns them, especially when that post is written by someone who already has the kind of success they are looking for. I want to attract those readers who are passionately chasing their goal of successful weight loss and will read anything they can get their hands on that will bring that goal to its eventual realization.
It is my hope that after reading this post in its entirety, you will be inspired to challenge the status quo or do the opposite every chance you get. I hope you choose to ingore the so-called experts of exercise and weight loss who only want to steal your hard-earned money and make themselves rich by feeding on your insecurities. I hope you decide to take my free advice and switch to a diet made up mostly of lean meat, fruit and vegetables.
What the majority of people are doing is not necessarily and more often than not is definitely not the best course of action. Free-thinking and genius are often mistaken for insanity in this backwards world of ours. I say insanity is giving thousands of dollars away to people who lack even enough motivation to practice what they preach. You would not trust an investment advisor that was bankrupt. Do not trust fat doctors or weight loss guru types either. Trust the skinny guy that gives away all his best ideas for free.
