How To Eat McDonald’s For 30 Days Without Getting Fat: Day 1
I am going to spend the next 30 days eating nothing but food from McDonald's in order to show people how it is possible to eat nothing but McDonald's food for 30 days without getting fat. I really enjoyed taking the last month off from my posting schedule and my 30-day food trials. It gave me time to find new passion for what I do here every day. I have great excitement about making my way through the McDonald's menu over the next 30 days while still managing to lose weight. I already proved that it is possible to eat substandard food and still ...
30 Days Of Healthy Meals 1: Day 1
Today marks the beginning of my first 30 Days Of Healthy Meals food trial of the year. This is actually my second food trial of the year, but is the first time I have been able to follow my normal diet consisting mostly of lean meat, fresh fruit and vegetables. I just completed my first food trial of the year, 30 Days Of Chef Boyardee, where I ate nothing but 800 calories worth of Chef Boyardee canned pasta products each day for an entire thirty day period. I lost 13.0 lbs in only 30 days and dropped my body fat percentage by ...
Hamburgers and Perogies Free Day
What is a "Free Day"? A free day is the one day per month that my wife Lyann and I take to eat whatever we want and as much of it as we want. What is the purpose of a "Free Day"? In order to understand why Lyann and I have "Free Days", you must first know a little more about us and our regular diet. Two years ago this month, I took the knowledge about food and diet that I gained during my days as an amateur bodybuilder and wrote it all down in my quick weight loss ebook "Save Your ...
30 Days Of Chef Boyardee: Day 1
I am going to spend the next 30 days eating nothing but Chef Boyardee canned pasta products. Yes, you heard right. In case you missed my post where I stated my focus for 2009, in that post I spoke about how I would be conducting 12 separate 30 day food trials this year. I wanted to get started as soon as possible in order to fit all of the trials into the current year. According to the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet I am using to track the particulars of each food trial, I will actually finish the last trial on January 8, 2010. During ...
30 Days Of Swanson Hungry Man TV Dinners: Day 1
I am going to spend the next 30 days eating nothing but Swanson Hungry Man TV Dinners. Why on earth would I want to conduct a 30 Days Of Swanson Hungry Man TV Dinners food trial on myself? What possible reason could I have for adopting such a diet? Well, as I stated in my post My Focus For 2009, I intend to conduct a total of 12 different food trials this year. I intend to switch back and forth between the healthy food I normally eat and various kinds of "substandard" food from the grocery store and fast food restaurants. In January ...
Nachos and Chili Free Day
The strange thing about waiting for our Nachos and Chili Free Day to roll around was that it seemed like it was taking forever to get here. Yet, now that the day has finally arrived, it seems to be not that long ago that Lyann and I were eating our fettuccine alfredo and our chicken croissant sandwiches on our last free day back in March. When you are waiting for a free day to arrive, the time drags by like molasses, but in reality, it takes no time at all for thirty days to go by. If only more people knew how ...
30 Days Of Healthy Meals 2: Day 1
Now that I am all finished with eating Swanson food, it is time for me to officially kick off my second 30 Days Of Healthy Meals food trial of the year. It is hard to believe that I am now beginning my fourth 30 day food trial of the year. I just finished a 30 day food trial where I ate nothing but Swanson Hungry Man TV Dinners for an entire month. I was really glad to see that food trial come to an end, especially considering that Lyann and I went through an extremely stressful time while moving near the end of ...
How To Eat McDonald’s For 30 Days Without Getting Fat: Day 23
My sights had been set on making it all the way through this 30 day period of showing people how to eat McDonald’s for 30 days without getting fat with no major disappointments regarding the accuracy of my food orders.
That lofty goal was ruined tonight when I ordered my supper items from McDonald’s.
Part of the reason why my order ended up not being totally correct was the high level of stress the lady who served me seemed to be under.
There were a lot of teenage kids in McDonald’s when I arrived. They were making quite the scene and giving the restaurant employees a hard time.
They would eat half of a burger, then return to the counter to complain that their orders were not right so they could get fresh food. It was obvious they were only doing it to be annoying and get something for nothing.
Though I was not impressed that my order was not complete, I do sympathize with the lady who served me because I spent nearly 15 years managing fast food restaurants and had to put up with a lot of ignorance and juvenile behavior during that time.
It is not like I received an entirely different order than what I requested. Only one small detail of my order was not filled properly, but there should be some way of preventing even the smallest of these mistakes.
The McDonald’s restaurant I frequent is run very professionally during the daytime, but looks like a zoo at night.
The absence of pride and organization is immediately visible to even the most casual of patrons.
I will consider myself lucky if this ends up being the only occasion where I did not receive exactly what I ordered.
One of my cans of Chef Boyardee food had a foreign object in it back in January of this year and I managed to forgive that mistake. I figure I owe the McDonald’s team the same courtesy.
My Current Weight And Body Fat
- My Current Weight: 141.8 lbs
- My Current Body Fat: 17.8%
So my weight finally decided to come back up by a small degree this morning. I weighed in 0.4 lbs heavier than yesterday.
These small movements in my weight no longer affect me mentally like they used to. Take for example how I recently went up in weight for five days in a row before reaching a new all-time low.
I know that weight loss happens gradually and that not every day will bring a loss with it.
The temporary rise you see on the scale always gets erased by a new weight loss record if you possess the tenacity to make it through the disappointing days.
Even if my weight goes up again tomorrow, I will not be discouraged.
There is still plenty of time for me to get down to the 140.0 lb mark like I have predicted I will before I finish showing people how to eat McDonald’s for 30 days without getting fat.
What McDonald’s Food I Ate Today
The McDonald’s food I chose to eat today was as follows:
- One McDonald’s Double Cheeseburger with Bacon
- One Medium French Fries
Here is how my meal of McDonald’s food appeared on my plate tonight:

The part of my order that got screwed up (or forgotten) tonight had to do with the Double Cheeseburger with Bacon that I asked for.
The Double Cheeseburger part was done right, but they forgot to put my bacon on the burger I ordered.
I was really disappointed with this mistake because the volume of my meals has been so low lately.
The anticipation of having a full meal tonight was high after having had only two McDonald’s muffins for supper last night and feeling hungry afterward.
My day was spent thinking about the taste of the bacon I was craving, so to have it left out of my order tonight really brought me down.
Their Double Cheeseburger did taste good, but was nowhere near on par with the Double Quarter Pounder I had earlier in this 30 day marathon of McDonald’s food.
My french fries were excellent, but I did have to ask the person manning the fry station to top up my fry container before leaving McDonald’s tonight.
My total calorie intake for the day consisted of:
- One McDonald’s Double Cheeseburger with Bacon – 460 calories
- One Medium French Fries – 360 calories
The bacon I was going to have on my Double Cheeseburger would have accounted for only 30 calories toward the total of my meal tonight, so I just left it included in the statistics for today.
This made my total calorie intake for today equal to 820 calories. This meal was much more satisfying than the one I had last night and took longer to eat.
Having to take my time while eating always leaves me feeling more satisfied.
Total Cost Of My McDonald’s Meals So Far
How funny that it cost me twice as much tonight to order one hamburger at McDonald’s versus ordering two McDonald’s muffins last night.
The cost of the ingredients in the McDonald’s muffins must be a lot lower than that of the beef used to make McDonald’s burger patties.
Even though my cost today was twice that of yesterday, my average meal price remained quite low and even dropped since yesterday.
Here are the totals so far:

| 03/07/2009 | One McDonald’s Double Cheeseburger with Bacon & One Medium French Fries | $4.49 |
| Total Cost | $151.56 | |
After factoring in tonight’s meal, my average daily meal cost for the past 23 days of showing people how to eat McDonald’s for 30 days without getting fat works out to $6.59 per day.
That total is a full $0.10 less than where it stood yesterday. I am beginning to wonder if it will get down to the $6.00 per day mark before this McDonald’s food trial concludes.
Despite what this food trial may be costing me financially, I have not missed any of the money I have spent so far.
Each McDonald’s purchase has been looked upon the same way as another person might regard buying a few cups of Tim Horton’s coffee every day.
Nobody ever worries about money spent on a few cups of coffee, but it sure can add up in a hurry.
Were it possible to lower my average daily cost to only $6.00 per day, I would finish up this food trial having spent only $180.00 for the whole month. I would be glad to see things turn out that way.
Twenty-three days down, seven to go…
